The Hockey Project was
founded by Don Moorhouse in June of 2007. Moorhouse has
received a Level 4 Advanced Coaching Certificate from USA
Hockey and is currently the Head Coach of the 1994 Bantam
Minor Blades of the Massachusetts Select League. Moorhouse
has 25 years of coaching experience beginning with a three-year
stint as an assistant coach with the American International
College men’s ice hockey program that culminated with
a 1989 ECAC Championship. He has served as a youth hockey
coach with the Springfield Capitals, Westfield Jr. Bombers,
and Western Mass Pioneers. Moorhouse is entering his 6th
year as the play-by-play radio voice of the University of
Massachusetts Men’s Ice Hockey team.
The Hockey Project provides
inner-city kids with certified training, equipment, and
ice-time. The program also provides scholarships for participation
in youth leagues and summer hockey camps.
